Money Is Not Everything
This is a great quote about the tempations that money and wealth has on all of us. This is partly because society puts a great emphasis on having money but also partly because we as individuals overly value money. It is first important to realize that money is needed for many of our basic physical needs, but we should never think that money can fully satisfy our physiological or emotional needs. This is because having wealth or physical possessions is not what we all deep down want. What we all want is to live a life that is meaningful and to be, above all happy, and this should be the focus of our lives and not simply pursuing money. When we focus on what really matters, it becomes clear that how much money you have does not matter. But this should not be taken as not wanting to obtain money, but rather focus on the important things in life and use money as a tool to obtain these, both for yourself and others around you. The opposite of this type of focus is a never-ending game of trying to obtain money, which often times is at the cost of what really makes us happy.
